Isle of Skye, 19 December 2010 at 10:48 hours. I reached this spot on the way up the southern side of Blaven before sunrise. Unfortunately the sun was obscured but the views were still breathtaking. This wide panorama is comprised of several images stitched together. Blaven is on the right and Sgurr na Stri is on the left. The bay below is Camasunary and the main Cullin ridge is largely hidden. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/6 sec at f / 11.
Isle of Skye, 18 December 2010 at 13:44 hours. Blaven is a fantastically rugged, jagged mountain seen from the east. One route up it is past this lone tree. I decided on an alternative route from the south. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/90 sec at f / 6.7.
Isle of Skye, 18 December 2010 at 12:04 hours. The iconic Blabheinn was a fantastic sight on the road to Elgol. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/8 sec at f / 22.
Isle of Skye, 18 December 2010 at 11:38 hours. On the day I arrived on a snowy Skye, I travelled on to Elgol and stopped to take a photograph of this solitary tree by the side of the road. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/4 sec at f / 11.
Trossachs, 15 December 2010 at 10:43 hours. Although the early pink glow had now gone, the sun's slightly higher position meant the trees now got some of the light. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 0.3 sec at f / 16.
Trossachs, 15 December 2010 at 09:57 hours. This was a spot just above the car park on the A821. There were a number of rocks and tree stumps that I looked at prior to the sunrise but on reflection, I was happiest with this one. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 8.0 sec at f / 22.
Braemar, 28 October 2010 at 12:10 hours. I like the lines of the hills sloping down one way and the forest line in the other direction. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/750 sec at f / 5.6.
Braemar, 28 October 2010 at 10:57 hours. A pleasant walk up the north side of Morven was spoilt a little by gale force winds at the summit and for some time as I walked further south. However, this rainbow over the river Dee as it winds its way from Linn of Dee made it worthwhile. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/750 sec at f / 4.5.
, 28 October 2010 at 08:59 hours. A super view from the 859 metre Morven that looks down on Braemar to the south. I stopped here, about halfway up for the rocky foreground. Sun glanced off the distant hills but it was quite a while later before Braemar got any sun - nestling between the hills, it is no surprise it is one of the coldest places to live in Britain. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1.5 sec at f / 16.
Braemar, 27 October 2010 at 15:08 hours. I eventually got to Braemar after a long, scenic journey up the east coast to Abroath and seeing the sunrise then up B roads to Banchory and across to Crathie before taking the main A93 to Braemar. There was still some afternoon sun so I headed out on one of the small walks near the village. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/250 sec at f / 9.5.
Banchory, 27 October 2010 at 12:52 hours. Being in no rush on my journey to Braemar, I decided to take the scenic route along Deeside from Banchory along the B974. This was one of the views. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/90 sec at f / 9.5.
, 24 October 2010 at 15:43 hours. I have always liked the look of Glen Devon - the narrow entrance surround by hills and at this time of year, the autumn colours. This view is taken from the nearby Gleneagles golf club. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/500 sec at f / 5.6.
Perthshire, 21 October 2010 at 16:22 hours. The famous golf resort in Perthshire enjoying some lovely autumnal, late-afternoon light. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/350 sec at f / 5.6.
Perthshire, 21 October 2010 at 16:09 hours. Some unusual light caught my attention on a very pleasant autumn stroll. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/350 sec at f / 6.7.
Perthshire, 17 October 2010 at 08:24 hours. Autumnal early sunshine over the church at Kinfauns. The church has an interesting graveyard, dating from the 1700s. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/15 sec at f / 16.
