Perth, 17 October 2010 at 08:10 hours. I got up early this autumnal morning hoping for some mist, but what mist there was quickly evaporated with the sun. I found this location close to the road and waited for the sunlight to reach the trees near the bottom of the picture. About 5 photos stitched together. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 0.7 sec at f / 19.
Perthshire, 03 October 2010 at 16:14 hours. Good late afternoon light and my son enjoying the puddle in this field. Camera details: EF50mm f/1.8 II, 1/1500 sec at f / 5.6.
Perthshire, 30 September 2010 at 16:25 hours. Autumn is often said to be the best season for photographers. The rich orange and yellow colours are not found at any other time and transform ordinary looking landscapes into something special. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/30 sec at f / 6.7.
Perthshire, 30 September 2010 at 15:18 hours. Another afternoon on the hills above Loch Turret. Not so many mountain hares this time and initially I wondered why until I saw three or four red kites soaring above. The day initially was sunny but cloud blew in later on. There were some brief breaks in the cloud as shown here. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/125 sec at f / 8.0.
Perthshire, 10 September 2010 at 19:38 hours. I'd been meaning to pop down to these fields for the last week or so as the sun was setting andf finally got a chance to whizz down on my bike with my 4 four-old son standing on the cross bar and holding on to me. The sky glowed orange but I neverthe less, I still thought this worked better in black and white. Camera details: , 15.0 sec at f / 22.
Perthshire, 26 August 2010 at 09:50 hours. Some low cloud sweeps over Loch Tay far below. Taken from Meall Garbh, near Ben Lawers. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/500 sec at f / 6.7.
Perthshire, 26 August 2010 at 09:37 hours. The swirling mists added an aura of mystery to this secluded glen, north of An Stuc. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/350 sec at f / 6.7.
Perthshire, 26 August 2010 at 07:56 hours. The area near lochan nan cat, at the north-west foot of Ben Lawers was very boggy and my socks were already wet from treading on sphagnum moss and numerous puddles. Cotton grass is a good indication that the area is boggy as indicated here. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 0.3 sec at f / 19.
Perthshire, 26 August 2010 at 07:12 hours. A mist covered Ben Lawers not long after dawn. Ben Lawers is the highest peak in Perthshire and at 1214m, it is the 10th highest in Scotland. I only had the morning so did not climb it, choosing instead to go up An Stuc and Meall Garbh. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/125 sec at f / 6.7.
Southern Cairngorms, 22 August 2010 at 07:26 hours. I made a very early start from the tent in the Lairig Ghru at 5.00am. Sticking my head out of the tent straight into a cloud of midge so thick I thought it was raining. Awful! In my haste to get away from them, I forgot my wide angle lens so had to make a 10 minute detour back to the tent. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/6 sec at f / 19.
Southern Cairngorms, 21 August 2010 at 19:37 hours. The huge bulk on the other side of the Lairig Ghru is Ben Macdui, at 4295 feet, it is the second highest mountain in Britain. Taken from the top of Devil's Point. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 0.3 sec at f / 22.
Southern Cairngorms, 21 August 2010 at 16:51 hours. The path that runs through the pass called the Lairig Ghru is seen in the foreground here, with the huge Cairn Toul flanking it on the left. Braeriach is in the background. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/180 sec at f / 9.5.
Southern Cairngorms, 21 August 2010 at 14:58 hours. The infant River Dee winds its way down towards Whitebridge before turning sharply east and heading towards Braemar and Ballater. Taken from the slopes of Carn a' Mhaim. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/250 sec at f / 6.7.
Southern Cairngorms, 21 August 2010 at 13:55 hours. A mix of rain and sun often produce dramatic light for landscape photography. This taken in the southern Cairngorms. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/500 sec at f / 6.7.
Perthshire, 17 August 2010 at 06:35 hours. I got up early intending to drive to Glenalmond for the sunrise, but halfway there realised there was very little petrol in the car and I had no money. A wrong turn sealed it - I found a pleasant spot by a field with these rolls of hay and solitary tree and waited for the sun to come up. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/20 sec at f / 16.
