Gower, 02 January 2011 at 10:11 hours. This small sany pool attracted me because of the colour in the water. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 2.0 sec at f / 13.
Isle of Skye, 19 December 2010 at 16:46 hours. A beautiful sunset over Rum, taken on my descent from Blaven. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/6 sec at f / 8.0.
Isle of Skye, 18 December 2010 at 15:10 hours. Elgol is a famous village for photographers - millions of photographs must have been taken from the shore here with the Cullin mountains across the bay providing a spectacular background. When I arrived, there was one couple who were just returning to the car. Apart from that, there was no one else around. Out of all the rocks on the shore I looked for one that had some symmetry with the background. This was my best effort. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 6.0 sec at f / 22.
Highland, 18 December 2010 at 10:25 hours. The severe cold spell had reached the west coast and covered this shoreline to Loch Alsh with ice. The seaweed hummocks split the ice and made them look like hatching creatures from another world. The martian sky added to the effect. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 4.0 sec at f / 22.
Highland, 18 December 2010 at 09:29 hours. I drove a long way from Perth through snow and ice to get here in time for sunrise. As it turned out, I didn't see the sun rise because of cloud. But later on there was a pink tinge to the sky over the Glen Shiel hills. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 6.0 sec at f / 16.
Pitlochry, 31 October 2010 at 13:09 hours. An iconic view for us on our regular journeys up the A9 to Blair Atholl. Stunning in autumn. Camera details: EF50mm f/1.8 II, 1/500 sec at f / 5.6.
Fettercairn, 27 October 2010 at 10:40 hours. This was a good break from the road north from Dundee to Braemar. An occasional breeze dislodged leaves (the orange squiggles in the top right) and blew them in my direction. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 0.5 sec at f / 8.0.
Abroath, 27 October 2010 at 08:31 hours. A familiar feature to those living in Angus. Taken not long after sunrise. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 0.3 sec at f / 8.0.
Abroath, 27 October 2010 at 08:21 hours. The sun was just about low enough to avoid flare here. Taken from Seaton Cliffs near Abroath. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 3.0 sec at f / 22.
Abroath, 27 October 2010 at 08:13 hours. A post 8am sunrise is a much more civilised time for the photographer. This was taken from Seaton Cliffs near Abroath. The rock stack is known as the Deils Heid. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 2.0 sec at f / 16.
Trossachs, 25 October 2010 at 15:30 hours. Perhaps the most famous of the lochs in the Trossachs. Taken from near the summit of Ben A'an. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 0.5 sec at f / 16.
Trossachs, 25 October 2010 at 10:51 hours. Beautiful autumn colours on Loch Ard. Beinn Dubh can be seen in the background. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/500 sec at f / 5.6.
Trossachs, 25 October 2010 at 10:37 hours. Some rocks near the banks of Loch Ard provided a suitable foreground below the wonderfull reflections of the trees. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 2.0 sec at f / 22.
Trossachs, 25 October 2010 at 08:57 hours. Loch Ard is an incredibly scenic loch, particularly on a still, sunny autumnal day that I was fortunate enough to visit on. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/4 sec at f / 16.
Trossachs, 25 October 2010 at 08:20 hours. I arrived at this spot before dawn and waited in the moonlight, before Ben Lomond turned orange-red as the first rays of sun hit it. Well worth getting up early for! Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1.5 sec at f / 16.
