Perthshire, 21 October 2010 at 15:11 hours. Undoubtedly my favourite time of year for colour and drama in the landscape. I waited a while here with a hat over my camera as a rain shower passed over. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1.5 sec at f / 22.
Perthshire, 21 October 2010 at 14:41 hours. There were quite a number of dead trees around this secluded Perthshire pond. No doubt they make good habitats for woodpeckers and dramatic features in photographs. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/8 sec at f / 9.5.
Perthshire, 17 October 2010 at 08:51 hours. A beautiful location that used to be a trout fishery but is now neglected to the benefit of the wildlife. Four images stitched together. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/6 sec at f / 11.
North-West Scotland, 19 February 2011 at 11:12 hours. Loch Clair is a lovely loch to take photographs from - the scenery and abundance of foreground interest is a photographers dream. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/15 sec at f / 13.
North-West Scotland, 19 February 2011 at 10:35 hours. A nicely imperfect reflection of the iconic mountain in the water of Loch Clair. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/10 sec at f / 13.
North-West Scotland, 18 February 2011 at 10:26 hours. Driving along a coastal road on the west coast, I cam across this rocky beach with distant hills. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/20 sec at f / 13.
, 18 February 2011 at 16:37 hours. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1/90 sec at f / 8.0.
Perthshire, 24 October 2010 at 16:19 hours. A slow exposure gave a pleasing rendition of the foreground grass. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 1.0 sec at f / 16.
Perthshire, 24 October 2010 at 16:03 hours. A wonderfully tranquil, secluded pond. I guessed there were few visitors as the mallard were very skittish and flew off before I got very close. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/250 sec at f / 5.6.
Perthshire, 26 August 2010 at 06:15 hours. I managed to make the walk-in from the A827 just in time for a brief sunrise at lochan nan cat. Nestling north-west from the huge bulk of Ben Lawers, I presumed it would be calm at this time of the morning but a fresh breeze was blowing off the hills. Use of my polarising filter and the early light meant an 8 second exposure that blurred the ripples, producing a similar effect to a calm surface. Camera details: EF17-40mm f/4L USM, 8.0 sec at f / 22.
Ben Alder, 10 July 2010 at 18:17 hours. A brief bright spell was soon followed by more rain. This image was shortlisted in the 2010 Scottish Nature Photography awards. Camera details: 10-20mm, 2.0 sec at f / 27.
Perthshire, 08 July 2010 at 21:38 hours. I found this attractive lochan above Glen Quaich. I had spent the last few hours cycling and walking up Glen Almond, but lost the sun behind hills so I decided to drive up Glen Quaich in time for the sunset. I wasn't disappointed. Camera details: 10-20mm, 3.0 sec at f / 22.
Coldingham, 07 April 2011 at 14:59 hours. Cold, spring water in Coldingham Bay. My daughter and I were walking from Eyemouth to St.Abbs head. Camera details: EF70-200mm f/4L USM, 1/1500 sec at f / 8.0.
Isle of Mull, 28 March 2010 at 13:32 hours. Another handsome view across Carsaig Bay on Mull. Camera details: OLYMPUS 14-42mm Lens, 1.6 sec at f / 22.
Crail, Fife, 14 March 2010 at 12:37 hours. The sun shows up the colours of these rocks on the shore near Crail. The old, derelict building in the background adds a bit of interest too. Camera details: 10-20mm, 0.4 sec at f / 32.
